BILINGUAL EDUCATION
Pippicalzelunghe Kindergarten offers a bilingual education responding to and anticipating the national and international governmental recommendations about the introduction of a foreign language in the early years education.
We believe that an early approach to a bilingual context is the best way to learn a foreign language, being this Italian or English.
Our learning strategy is based on the use of English and Italian as parallel ways of communicating. Daily activities, structured on age range and all play-based, are carried out both in English and Italian in order to help the child to improve his understanding and his spoken language.
Qualified teachers (an Italian and an English one) will lead the children in a three years journey that will take them first to the
- discovery and understanding of themselves (five senses, the body and its potentials) then to the
- understanding of the world (family, friends, professions) and of
- abstract concepts (time, seasons, life-cycle)
that will allow them to confidently face primary school.
The advantage of learning a second language in early childhood consists in a natural and playful approach which is the same adopted in the process of learning the mother tongue.
THE CLASSROOM
Our classroom is structured in different “corners”, each one stimulating a different area of the child’s development (social and emotional, creative, physical, language and communication, knowledge and understanding of the world) and all independently exploitable by our little and inquisitive explorers.
In order to create a whole engagement of the children, we offer different spaces and laboratories that will enhance active and creative learning:
- role play area,
- circle time area,
- gym for gross motor skills,
- messy area,
- mark making and writing area,
- exploration and science laboratory,
- music workshop.
OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES
Other activities, held by professionals in the early years physical development, are also scheduled and these are:
- Aquatic
- Psychomotor
OUR STAFF
Our staff is made by competent and highly trained practitioners qualified in early childhood and in pre-school practice in particular.
The teachers have designed with great care a program for your children that provides them with several interactive workshops extremely useful and important for the learning journey of our little guests.
Our staff will be available (by appointment) to illustrate the program and give you all the information needed.
Extra-school activities
Children and the importance of learning to swim
The child needs to develop inside the water as this was his natural environment, but to make this happen we have to provide the right tools that can give him emotional and postural reassurance.
If the practitioners and the setting in which the child operates allow this, he will be able to do what he wants even outside the setting and achieve the goal that will coincide with his learning skills in other words his motor and intellectual skills.
And, as for any individual, the development of the physical and intellectual maturity will be attained only when the child will feel confident and enjoy the activity.
Circomotricità
We aim to stimulate all the children’s motor skills encouraging them to face little puzzles that they will be able to solve through the discovery of their bodies and their abilities also overcoming little fears.
OUR FOOD
Our Kindergarten is lucky enough to have an internal kitchen run by an experienced cook that only prepares fresh and genuine products.
Lunch time is an important learning experience for children and a moment of the day that has to be lived in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere. For this reason we dedicate a whole are to such a crucial routine.
In our MESS ROOM children will be able to socialize with their peers whilst learning the principles of a correct and healthy nutrition. This area will also be used for culinary workshops.
OUR REST
Children’s rest has the same importance for us. It can sometimes be a stressful routine for them and this is why we have a special “BEDROOM”, like at home, where the children can sleep on the cots or relax in our “soft corner” listening to stories, rhymes and soothing music.
OUR GARDEN
Our garden disposes of a beautiful outside area kept with great care to all details and protected by a fence made of non-toxic Swedish wood, synthetic grass and toys for our little guests.
